| Supplier Quality Engineer |

The position incumbent assures that vendor components meet ZFLS quality requirements.The Supplier Quality Engineer will negotiate and evaluate a variety of quality concerns, APQP and PPAP requirements, and communicate these with suppliers, internal teams and customers as required. The Supplier Quality engineer will be responsible for managing the quality of the supplied product from assigned suppliers to ensure that all company objectives are met.

TASKS
-
Lead the supplier APQP process.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of in one of the following commodity groups; Aluminum castings, injection molding, electronics, machining, forgings, or stampings.
- Ability to travel to suppliers to perform audits, follow up on corrective actions, perform Level V PPAP’s, or conduct APQP. Travel to be up to 35%.
- Demonstrate the ability to use SPC to control supplier quality when applicable.
- Develop incoming inspection requirements for vendor components.
- Determine critical dimensions on vendor components requiring SPC.
- Review and approve Supplier ISIR’s (PPAP’s). Responsibility of releasing vendor parts.
- Use various quality techniques to determine vendor related quality problems.
- Make quality judgments on vendor components per drawing.
- Perform supplier quality audits.
- Work with engineering, and buyers, to develop suppliers.
- Read drawings, utilizing General Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Use TS16949, ISO 14001, and internal quality standards to improve product quality and suppliers.
- Maintain supplier certification program.
- Control and maintain costs associated with vendor component sort/rework.
- Communicate quality concerns to suppliers and issue supplier corrective actions.
- Work with other departments on customer cost reductions from a Quality Assurance perspective.
- Direct Supplier s efforts toward TS16949.
- Support and comply with all company policies, procedures, standards (TS, APQP, EMS, 5S, Q1, etc.) and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the Company in complying with the principles referenced in the Quality Manual and Environmental Manual.

YOUR PROFILE
-
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor s degree (B.S.) from four-year College or University; or three to six years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ASQC, CQE, CQM experience preferred. Experience as Process or Manufacturing Engineer with specific experience in machining and/or casting is desired.
