Semi-integral power steering (single-circuit and dual-circuit design)

The semi-integral hydraulic power steering system (single circuit design) is used in commercial vehicles which require high steering forces on account of their high axle load, or when the connecting rod is undersized.

Advantages

  • Active return flow 
  • Allows for very high steering forces (from axle load > 8 t)
  • Allows for any number and size of operating cylinders
  • Mechanical steering limitation possible


The semi-integral hydraulic power steering system (dual-circuit design) is used in commercial vehicles which require large steering forces on account of their high axle load. Here, the hydraulic oil metered by the steering system is fed to separate operating cylinders to provide full hydraulic assistance to the steering.
